THE KATHAVISUALS GUIDE
Light a virtual diya: a quiet wish online
ऑनलाइन मनोकामना दीप कैसे जलाएँ
Light a free virtual diya, add a private wish and set it afloat. Learn how the wish river works and what stays saved on your device.

A virtual diya, not a physical booking
A virtual diya is a small lamp represented on your screen. On KathaVisuals, you can light one for a quiet moment of reflection and watch it float along an illustrated river. The experience is free, opens in a web browser and does not require an account. It is available whether or not you have already visited a temple on the map.
This is a digital gesture, not a promise to light a physical lamp at a named temple or riverbank. No priest is booked and no payment is collected for your wish. A lamp can give your intention a simple visual form, but the site does not promise that a wish will be fulfilled. You are welcome to participate without writing anything personal.
How to light your diya online
Open Wish Diya from the navigation. The river scene has its own sound and motion controls, so take a moment to set it the way you prefer.
- Select the button to light a diya. A small wish form opens over the river.
- Write a short wish if you want, or leave it empty. You do not need to enter a name, address, phone number or other identifying information.
- Release your diya and let the animation finish. Your lamp joins the scene, and the experience confirms that it has been released.
- Select one of your lamps to revisit its saved wish. You can return to the sanctuary, listen to a bhajan or continue exploring the temple map.
Where does my written wish go?
The wish-river feature stores your written wishes in this browser's local storage rather than publishing them as a public prayer feed. The river also includes decorative lamps; they are scenery, not evidence of live wishes from other people. The share action copies the public river link, not the text you wrote.
On a shared device, another person using the same browser profile may be able to see locally saved wishes. Avoid sensitive personal information. Clearing browser storage removes these local records, and wishes do not automatically appear on another device. If storage is unavailable, the current session can still let you use the experience, but you should not expect the wish to remain after you leave.
Return gently, without a daily obligation
Your lamps are organized around the current local day, and the river shows a daily limit when it applies. This keeps the interaction manageable; it is not a measure of devotion. Older written wishes are not a permanent journal, so do not use the river as the only place to keep something important.
Sound starts muted, and Pause motion lets you quiet the scene. When you have finished, you can spend time with a bhajan or enter a virtual shrine for bell, flower and aarti offerings. My journey keeps a count of completed diya moments when progress storage is available. There is no requirement to return every day: the river is simply here when you want a small pause.
Questions before you begin
Is lighting a virtual diya free?
Yes. There is no charge or required account for the wish-river experience.
Does sharing reveal my written wish?
The share action copies the public river URL. It does not include your written wish.
Are the other lamps real-time prayers from other people?
No. The ambient lamps are decorative. Your own lamps come from this browser's saved diya records.
